National Programme Officer, Migration (50%) and Local Governance (50%)

Manage the administrative and provide operational support to project partners and ensure effective monitoring and steering of projects in the field of migration and local governance
Conceptualise new projects and lead through the public tendering and internal approval processes.
Ensure the analysis of sub-sectors in migration (particularly in terms of political economy, power and conflicts) and local governance.
Further develop and implement the results monitoring and reporting system.
Ensure the mainstreaming of issues of poverty, social inclusion, gender and governance within the portfolio.
Contribute to domain-specific and overall strategic programme development
Maintain and support know-how sharing on migration within SDC and the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh
Maintain and expand relations with a wide network of relevant stakeholders (such as Government of Bangladesh, NGOs, other donors, etc.).

HSC SSC - Post-graduate degree from a reputed Bangladeshi or foreign academic institution

Understanding of political issues and government functioning in Bangladesh. Functional network within government is an asset.
Practical experience (preferably in an implementing organisation) with operational and financial management of development projects is an asset.
Previous experience in local governance and migration
Experience in results monitoring and reporting.
Good understanding of local governance, migration (especially labour migration, counter-trafficking and internal migration), social inclusion, gender, good governance and conflict sensitive programme management.
Excellent strategic, analytical and conceptual capacities.
Strong communication and networking skills; full proficiency in English, team and independent work capability, gender sensitivity.
Readiness to travel to rural regions within Bangladesh.
